Fifth Grade Team

up in Southern California and attended California State University, Fullerton. I moved to Virginia in 1998, and I started teaching in Campbell County. I decided to go back to school and I received my Masters Degree from the University of Virginia in 2003. I live with my son, Ethan. We love to travel. So far we have been to 24 states, and want to eventually see all 50! I especially love the beach and collecting shells. My favorite part of teaching is watching children learn and grow.

I've lived in Virginia my whole life.  I'm a Campbell County native, having gone through Rustburg schools for middle school and high school.  I attended Liberty University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Family and Child Development. I've spent my entire teaching career at BES where I've taught 3rd, 4th, and now 5th grade. In my free time I love to hang out with my husband, complete puzzles and puzzle books, read a good fiction series, go kayaking or other outdoor activities, or spend time with my niece and nephew!  I'm looking forward to this upcoming school year!   

Hello, my name is Samantha Hunter. I am a 5th grade teacher at Brookneal Elementary.  I was born and raised in this area so teaching at Brookneal is home to me.  I reside in Nathalie (Halifax County) with my husband Gary and our dog.  Being raised in the area, I attended Brookneal Elementary and William Campbell, graduating in 1996.  I attended Radford University obtaining my degree in Elementary Education with an add on endorsement in Math.  I later studied at Longwood University obtaining my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership.  Working with children is my passion, so I feel honored to be able to do just that at the school that I attended growing up.
