Hello, I'm Mrs. Holbrooks! Before I embraced the joys of teaching, I worked as a Crisis Clinician at Horizon Behavioral Health and then enjoyed my time as a stay-at-home mom. When my son started school at BES, I decided to follow my dream of becoming a teacher!

I’m a proud mom of two wonderful sons, and together with my husband, we manage a growing farm that's bustling with goats, chickens, bees, and our two dogs. In my free time, I love to go boating, dive into a good book, spend quality time with my family, cook up new recipes in the kitchen, and cheer on my oldest son at the baseball field.

Hi, I’m Mrs. Angel! I’ve been part of the Brookneal Elementary family since 2017 and am thrilled to now be teaching Kindergarten. I love helping my “Kinder babies” learn, grow, and shine each day. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our son Ryland, and our three dogs. As a family, we love camping at the lake and making special memories outdoors. 

I am from the Eastern Shore of Virginia and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Liberty University. I love teaching kindergarten and creating a positive, engaging learning environment for my students. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dog and cat.

Hi! My name is Emma Thomas, and I've been a part of BES since 2023. I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia a few years ago. I graduated from Liberty University with my bachelors degree in Elementary Education. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, figure skating, and spending time outdoors. I am so excited to be back at BES this year!
