Arrival Procedures
Bus Riders

Students who ride the bus may arrive as early as 7:40 AM.

Buses will drop students off in the front bus loop.

The crossing guard will stop traffic to allow bus drivers to exit onto Charlotte Street.

No cars are permitted in the bus loop from 7:40–8:15 AM each day. Cars that enter through the bus loop will be directed to the back of the school to the car rider line.

Students who arrive after 8:15 will be marked tardy.
Car Riders

Car rider drop-off is at the back cafeteria doors on the West Forest Street entrance from 7:45–8:10 AM.

Please enter the car rider line via Harrison Street or Wickliffe Road.

West Forest Street will be one-way from 7:45–8:10 AM. All cars must exit onto Charlotte Street after drop-off.
Walkers:
Students who are walkers will need to be walked by an adult to the front door. If you are needing to cross Charlotte Street, please do so at the crosswalk, where the crossing guard can stop traffic to ensure that you can cross safely.
Morning Car Rider Line Etiquette:

Do not allow your child to exit the car until an adult is present and traffic has been stopped.

Have your child ready to exit the vehicle upon reaching the front of the line to keep traffic moving.

Remain in your vehicle unless you have a legitimate reason or require assistance, staff members will help your child exit the car if needed.

Do not pass other vehicles in line. If there is a delay, an adult will walk to your car to assist.
Afternoon Dismissal Procedures
Early Dismissal Students

Students approved for early dismissal will leave at 2:50 PM through the front bus loop.
Dismissal Changes

All changes must be communicated by calling the front office and speaking to a secretary or administrator.

Do not email or send changes to teachers, as they may not see messages while teaching.

Dismissal changes must be made before 2:30 PM for planning and safety purposes. Only emergency situations will be considered after this time.
Walking Zone

The walking zone is reserved for students who live within the designated Brookneal area that does not have bus service.

Addresses must be verified and approved by school administration to qualify as a walker.
Bus Riders & Car Pick-Up

Buses will dismiss two at a time in the order they arrive from William Campbell Combined School.

Once all buses have left, cars will be directed into the bus loop by the crossing guard.

All cars must enter by turning LEFT into the loop from West Forest Street, then left from Charlotte Street. No cars may turn right to skip the line.

Upon entering, attendants will check your pick-up authorization and bring your child to your vehicle.

Cars must exit by turning RIGHT onto Charlotte Street as directed by the crossing guard to keep traffic moving smoothly.
